How The Bible Book of Revelation Relates To Present Global Happenings

By Chloe Gib

Reports about earthquakes, tsunamis, torrents and international wars are common in media channels. Many people lose their lives in these calamities. Some analysts opine that all the recent happenings are better understood by reading the Bible and Book of Revelation. There have been claims that with a keen eye on what the writer talks about, it is possible to accurately pronounce why punishment is being meted out on humanity.

The theme about what will be witnessed when the world comes to an end is recurrent in Holy Scriptures. Hundreds of years ago, Bible prophecy gave warnings about the decay of moral principles. Nations will enter into unending conflicts. The select people of God would face many enemies. To some believers, this replicates what is usually witnessed in the Middle East.

A different interpretation is however given by some scholars. The Bride of Christ is taken to mean those who have accepted salvation. This group is spread all over the globe. It is their attempt to stay away from sins that is likely to present challenges. They may face opposition from those who profess other faiths.

Whether or not the rise in the number of terrorist organizations is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy is highly debatable. It all depends on how the reader understands the vision. The ordinary person is bound to take these events as geographical or politically related issues. It is not so for the ardent believer.

One thing that most people ask is whether the physical encounter is necessary. The message is confusing since matters of faith are mainly spiritual. As all this is highly metaphorical, mortals are always attempting to delve deep into how they can prepare for the final day. The controversy is about the actual timing.

The conviction that what is foreseen in holy books is about to be fulfilled is strengthened by the recent global economic meltdown. Massive job losses are being reported in many nations. Bail-out programs are not as successful promised by financial experts. Some people say that this is a prelude to the end times.

An effective approach to this matter is possible when one reads the scriptures. To supplement the effort are the interpretations posted online. Materials to support curious inquirers are sold or downloaded for free. Also buying theological commentaries can help.

As to the true meaning of Bible and Book of Revelation, only by taking time to go through the entire message can only reliably find out. Yet, this is a matter that believers will continue to debate. The life after is well understood when the prophecy is studied.
