Perfect Your Talents With Golf Tips

By Marcus Dodd

Anyone who plays golf, will tell you that learning how to swing correctly will increase your enjoyment of the game. Practicing the basics of your swing are key to consistently playing a good game. There are a number of golf tips that go over the main elements of the swing that include downswing and backswing tips, as well as ball position.

The best advice involves the position of the ball and maintaining correct posture. Practicing regularly will ensure that your game will significantly improve and you will have increased confidence when you are playing.

When you have the ball positioned right and you hit with a downward swing, you will be able to hit crisp iron shots. Your posture is very important as is where the ball is positioned. For shorter irons, the ball should be at the center of the stance. If you are using a mid iron, move it one ball forward from the center posture. You will move it two up for a fairway club, and three when you use a driver.

When you get your posture down, practice your downswing and backswing. When you use a backswing, your body, arms, and club will rotate back in unison. At the same time, you will shift your weight to your back leg. As your wrist are coming up at waist level, pivot them. The leading arm is straight when you are reaching the peak of the swing, and the bulk of your weight will shift to your back leg. Keep your knee bent, your hips at a thirty to forty five degree angel, and your shoulders rotated at 90 degrees.

When practicing your downswing, the weight of your body shifts to the front leg, and your hips, shoulders, and arms follow this shift of weight. Keep your head behind your ball as you hit it. Make sure to keep the movements correct by following some very simple tips for checking position.

You will know that your swing is right if your belt clasp faces your target once you are done. Also, you will notice the majority of your weight on the front leg, with your back leg resting on the toes, and the club pointing in the direction of the target.

If you make a point to follow these golf tips, you will sharpen your skills. It does take dedication to learn the steps of the swing. Once you have mastered the swing, you will have increased your level of confidence.
