Please take a look at places the author believes are destinations that deserve to be ranked amongst the best vacation spots in the world. You don't have to agree, and neither may the newspapers, but it is my opinion that they are three of the best vacation spots in the world. At the very least they might force you to get thinking about alternatives for your next holiday
Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita is the latest Four Seasons Resort, and it has been receiving glowing reviews, whether reviewers have been challenged by the Ernie Els Championship golf course or have just loved the top class accommodation, the glorious food, and the very very caring staff, it's not easy to know. There are 6 kilometres of private shoreline, among lush tropical foliage and trees at Anahita, covering over 213 hectares of land and situated around a turquoise lagoon, this might be the top of the Four Seasons resorts.
An all villa complex constructed from rich woods and cool stone, the villas all have plasma TVs, and a multitude of electronics you might expect in a top resort, as well as a private, landscaped terrace with plunge pool, a spacious bathroom with large bathtub and private shower in the garden. This is simply a lovely getaway, and is perfect for a brilliant honeymoon, but similarly a brilliant family resort with the larger two bedroom villas, children clubs, tennage clubs and each sport you can imagine. The Four Seasons must now be the leading resort on Mauritius.
For our next trip we go to the west coast of Malaysia to a resort often seen as as one of the finest vacation spots anywhere.
Pangkor Laut is a privately owned island three miles off the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, reached after a 30 minute speedboat ride. The Pangkor Laut resort is known for spotless beaches, wide bays and ancient jungle. Amazingly the resort's private beach called Emerald Bay many people rate as one of the loveliest beaches anywhere in the world.
The island is large with over 300 acres and is almost totally undeveloped aside from the 142 luxurious villas and suites, the eight exclusive Estates and the award winning Spa Village, all built specifically to be camouflaged in order to look natural. On stilts over the water are the signature Spa and sea villas and the Beach Villas are just a few feet away away from the white sandy beach. If you want to be energetic and you don't fancy just a swim in one of the two pools, then there is always tennis and squash, a gym and Spa Town. The seven restaurants and bars offer amazing cuisine in a number of exquisite settings, and you may also cruise round the island on board an antique junk.
For our last visit we go to Europe, more particularly to France to what is often named as the best holiday spot in Europe, and should be recognised as one of the places to stay in the world.
Chateau Eza is the ultimate French Riviera Hideaway. It is a medieval hamlet which kind of spills over the cliff down towards the Meditteranean with a Michelin starred restaurant and views of the Mediterranean to die for. Most likely the best description of it actually is beautiful, intimate and very personal.
Chateau Eza is a genuine boutique hotel with only 11 rooms and suite. They're really sumptuous, each room designed in the tradition of a Chateau. It truly does cling to one side of the ancient rock walls of Eze, a thousand-year-old pretty and peaceful medieval village more than 400 metres above the Mediterranean Sea. As you are in the French Riviera you are in a great position to explore this glorious part of the world. What you will get here is 5 star service and facilities with world class dining.
It is to be hoped you enjoyed our version of the best vacation spots in the world, and while you won't agree with our choice you will have discovered a vacation destination you were ignorant of.
