Flights to Kathmandu: Setting Your Way to the World's Last Paradise

Man is an ever insatiable being when it comes to generating new knowledge. Such craving is achieved in a number of ways but others prefer to do it by visiting to most accessible places. The variety of culture and extremities of things that can be explored in other places where one is not commonly exposed to is likely to fill the void of information that others want to gain.

Perhaps one spot that is likely to ignite one's interest is Kathmandu, the capital and the most progressive city of Nepal. Named after the valley that surrounds it, the Kathmandu Valley, this place is not any other ordinary spot. Getting to this place these days is easy though it was formerly believed that the placed is very secluded from the rest of the world as roads are not prominent and very rugged.

The easiest means to get to this place is to take any of the flights to Kathmandu. Majority of the incoming flights originate within Asia but flights outside Asian countries may occur from time to time. Connecting flight to Kathmandu often originate from New Dekhi, Dhaka, and Bangkok.

To get to the heart of the city and start the adventure, one can take a taxi cab from the airport. It is just cautioned though that you talk to the driver of the amount first before taking the ride so you won't be overcharged. An alternative is the public bus though the rough road may cause the journey to be longer than expected.

Upon reaching Thamel, the central region of the city, several hotels are available and have prices that most tourists can afford. From these hotels, one can walk around the ruins and visit several Buddhist temples visible within the district. The most visited and most revered temple is the Swayambhu because of its large stupa. This is the largest and is favored by many tourists because it provides an overview of the entire city thus one need not go anywhere or explore every nook to get an overall picture of the entire city.

It is also depressing if you will miss to set foot in one of the most popular UNESCO world heritage site in Nepal, the Kasthamandap or the Wooden House. This ancient square located at the heart of Kathmandu Valley is a place where palaces and temples abound. With a palace that was believed to be constructed in around 1000 AD, the unique culture of the place is likely to be spelled in Kathmandu.
