Best Wine Regions: Healdsburg Wineries

By Philip Vonwrede

The wine region of Healdsburg is one of a kind as a destination for wine lovers and regular tourists alike. Healdsburg Wineries have rows of dining places, shops and most importantly, wine tasting rooms. Even if you just venture wine tasting, it is more than enough of a good time for an individual. Visitors are given a ton of options of what to do there and as a wine region, they certainly showcase their wineries such as the following.

The first winery is J Vineyards & Winery. When it comes to wine production at J Vineyards & Winery, theirs start of with the soil. The expertise of Judy Jordan's in understanding geology and continuous interaction with climate, soil, clone and rootstock keeps J Vineyards & Winery a step ahead among Healdsburg Wineries. The winery prides itself as being the experts in wine making and guarantees continuous improvement to ensure that they offer the best. Melissa Stackhouse is the head wine maker here and has a great understanding of Russian Rover Valley and ensures that the winery produces the best wine and the techniques and methods applied here deliver an awesome combination of elegance, varietal expression and complete balance.

Next, Quivira Vineyards & Winery is my next pick. The attitude of everyone from Quivira Vineyards & Winery is quite different from others. Huge Chappelle is the head wine maker in the estate, although he might grimace if he hears you say that. The winery views their overall process as not making of wine, instead they insist that they grow wine. They are fairly well known for producing one of the finest wine. They apply several different techniques in farming that are biodynamic and in turn, you will taste the pureness and effervescent flavor in their wine varietals.

Just for its historical structure and great personnel, Hop Kiln Wineries is surely a favorite in Healdsburg. If that does not entice you enough, it carries a variety of wine blends including the reasonably priced Zin and Big red and a lot more. Furthermore, visitors can also regale on the diverse cuisine and delicacies that one can try especially their excellent fig vinegar, meat slices, bread and cheeses. This will definitely be the highlight of your day, especially if you have a picnic while sipping their wine.

Ridge Lytton Springs Vineyards is one of my favorite. Ridge Lytton Springs Vineyards is most distinguished for being eco-friendly and socially responsible in their wine making process. They make use of wine grapes that are completely cultured with the use of native yeasts that are found from their very own vineyards rather than use more artificial components. Every step including color extraction, tannins and taste are all determined without the use of commercial enzyme, which has brought out the traditional classic taste of their wines.

Among the notable names in Healdsburg wineries include the Seghesio Family Vineyards that has over the years transformed from being a simple jug wine factory to a specialist in production of Zinfandel in California. The winery is popularly known for its five Zinfandels which are the Sonoma County Old Vine, the single vineyards at Cortia, San Lorenzo and Home Ranch and its normal Sonoma County wine bottling.
