The Democratic Forum And The General Public

By Dianne Crane

In the United States the democratic forum usually consists of issues that are near and dear to the people. This team realizes that they have to be the voice of the common people more and they try to stay grounded on their views about occurrences in everyday life.

They are more involved with what the middle class and poor people are concerned about and they try to reach out to people of all creeds and colors. Their Republican opponents are more concerned about the wealthy which they will focus on fully and never give thought about working people.

Their meetings will cover the issues that people in so called ghettos go through or individuals who are just trying to make it day by day. Gay marriage, employment, abortion, taxes and healthcare are the five major concerns that this team will face during each meeting.

Arriving at an emergency room is not as easy as it used to be when a person does not have healthcare coverage. Many Americans have lost their medical insurance due to the economy slumping and this is a growing problem that has stunned the nation. In 2008 the new American President tried to find ways to resolve this important matter.

Abortion has always been a slippery slope subject which the group has to deal with. Many of them in this party are pro-choice when it comes to this subject. Their Republican opponents have other ideas about this issue since most of them believe that life begins at conception. They also believe that women should keep an unwanted child in any event given.

When two people of the same sex want to bond their coupling the gay marriage issue rears it's head. Many people who don't understand the concept of love are usually opposed to this matter and this is when the group has to step in. They have satisfied some of the people with Christian beliefs by creating civil unions for the couples but it may be decades before people will come together on this subject.

Finding a job has been difficult for many people living in the United States. The wonderful D group will look into ways to make the people happy and at least live in comfort until employment comes through. Unemployment extensions and many food services are offered to individuals waiting for work. They even reach out to the children in the inner cities by giving them free lunches during the summer. Employment takes time to create and the group works vigorously to resolve this issue. Taxes has been a part of life for everyone and the team is now finding ways to make the richer pay more of them.

All the world needs a democratic forum that reaches out to everyone who live in their country. The sad thing is that only a few people carry all of the wealth while many live below the poverty line. The future will be bleak for those young people coming up if there are not immediate solutions to the problems that the United States or other countries face.
