Tshirt Printing Is An Effective Way To Promote Products And Opinions

By Andy Flores

During the infamous decade of the 1960s people not only adopted radically new political viewpoints, but also changed the way they dressed. Unusual psychedelic colors were suddenly popular, and the plain cotton t-shirt was a blank canvas waiting to be illustrated. Today, tshirt printing has taken the place of tie-dyeing, and is a popular, modern way to express a point of view, or to advertise a product.

Although many of the plain variety are still sold, creating custom-printed designs is practical and popular. There are several techniques in use today for imprinting nearly any image, including logos, slogans, advertising messages, or even copies of fine art. The opportunities for creativity are limitless, and the screen printing process is still the most common method of producing a finished product.

This method is not only economical, but has been used for many years on such common material as paper, wood, or even plastics. The colors are versatile, brilliant, and durable, lasting well even when worn often. The screen print techniques used today are a combination of modern digital processes and traditional methods of transferring images from screen to fabric.

The finished screen prints are commonly crisp and clear. The screens themselves are often saved for future prints, and the pigments endure well through repeated washing. For designs that will be produced in a limited edition, however, a heat transfer technique is often used, primarily on white material that does not affect the tones of the colors. The resulting images are good, but do not last quite as long as those that are screen printed.

In the past decade all-digital print methods have become increasingly popular. This process is superior for transferring artwork that includes intricate designs or a wide variety of colors, and is most economical when used in smaller production cycles. When a relatively low number of very high quality, long-lasting shirts are needed, this is the method that gives consistently good results.

Human beings in general like to watch other people, and a customized message printed on a shirt often gets noticed much more readily than a massive roadside billboard, or even the most jangling, repetitive TV commercial. As cost-effective advertising, printed shirts are nearly unbeatable. They are trendy, inexpensive, can be worn anywhere these days, and often make a lasting impression on those who see them.

Psychologically, identical shirts are very helpful in creating a group spirit in work situations, classrooms, or when playing certain sports. Not only do they impart a sense of belonging or membership, but they can create a temporary feeling of togetherness even in groups of uninterested and unrelated individuals. Because they are so fast and easy to print, they are good for gift-giving at occasions including family reunions, picnics, or even as party favors.

The availability of tshirt printing websites makes ordering a special design simple and quick. Whether the image or message you need must reflect conservative company values, or needs to appeal to a much younger audience, it can be imprinted on a quality cotton t-shirt. Most people enjoy getting a high-quality shirt, and will continue to wear it long after the special occasion has ended.
