The Key Polar Heart Rate Monitor Instructions

By Stephen Allen H.

A polar heart rate monitor, a health device, consist two parts: the transmitter and the watch unit. This equipment monitors and measures the heartbeats in a given time. The user wears the former on the body. It has electrodes at the back that detect heartbeats of the person wearing the gadget. The data is then taken to watch unit for display. The device works effectively and gives correct results when the user follows carefully the polar heart rate monitor instructions, which are divided into six detailed steps.

The first step is to attach the end of one flexible elastic strap on the buckle attached at the end of this gadget. Wrap the strap around the torso and the remaining end should be inserted in the unused buckle. The transmitter should be positioned in front of the torso, but below the chest muscles.

The second step is to use water or else saliva to moisten the electrodes with a clean washcloth. Position the electrode grooves that are behind the tool. Pull away the device from the chest and using the damp washcloth, wipe the grooves. One can also use a special lotion meant for the gadget to obtain better transmission. Return the tool to the original position after cleaning.

Thirdly, secure the elastic strap by locking the buckle firmly with the Polar badge centrally placed. Turn on the appliance using any button and examine the watch display to see a heart icon, which confirms that system has been able to detect it. If no heart icon displayed, then one should carry out the step again in a place with less or no electrical obstruction.

The other step is cycling through the time, calories burned, lap time and timer modes via the top right button. The lower right button, on the other hand, cycles through the display modes of the percentage of the rate of maximum heart and beats in every minute. The red button is used to set and save present time and date. The watch is given some few seconds to sense the heartbeats and the red button is pressed to enable the equipment to start recording.

Fifthly, start the exercise using the device to collect the data from the recordings. One uses the red button to pause and resume the recordings. When through with the exercise, stop the device from recording by double pressing the lower left button. Finally, analyze the data shown on the screen.

Lastly, remove watch system and disconnect the elastic strap where it was attached. Using a clean towel, wipe any excess moisture on the transmitter and the watch unit and store them in a cool, dry place. To maintain this device, one should regularly clean the transmitter using water and mild soap and dry carefully before storing. Avoid storing in non-breathing materials such as plastic bags since moisture and sweat actives the gadget shortening the life of batteries.

In addition, the gadget should not be stretched or bent, kept under very high or low temperatures or under sunlight for long to prevent damaging the electrodes. Polar heart rate monitor instructions are thus vital to the user as they guide on how to use the tool wisely.
