Product Review: The Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Fun and Friends Musical Table

By Jennifer Dilwortz

This musical table provides many activities for your young child in just one place. The toy not only provides entertainment for your baby to enjoy, but also includes educational modules which aid in children's learning and development.

The Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Fun and Friends Musical Table plays over fifty tunes. The corners of the toy have a character that lights up and talks with your baby. Your young child can find out about the alphabet and counting, aiding in language acquisition. The toy can also assist with recognizing different colors, geometric shapes and animals, and understanding complex ideas such as cause and effect and if things are alike or different.

The Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Fun and Friends Musical Table can play tunes in either Spanish or English, which can be a fabulous stress-free method for parents keen on promoting a multilingual household to introduce Spanish (or English if it is not the primary language in the family.) It is actually 4 toys in 1:

- A laptop computer with lots of music permitting the child to study the alphabet, shapes and other lessons;
- A piano that can be played, while studying about colors at the same time;
- A counting telephone that also doubles as a teaching aid for numbers;
- A book with pages to flip with stories for the child to learn.

The toy is a table top with many devices. Included in the toy are detachable legs allowing your young child to play with the table while they are standing. The table uses 3 AA (LR6) alkaline batteries, which aren't included. The toy measures 18.5 inches by 18.5 inches by 15 inches when fully assembled.

Children may also use this toy on the floor, with the detachable legs removed. With the numerous activity options, babies will have many hours of enjoyment, education, and laughter. One of the more positive features is the Imagination mode. In this mode, the table toy plays real-life sounds such as piano keys, cellphone ringtones and many more.

There are a handful of minor issues with the table. The closing apparatus on the computer snaps closed, which may result in pinched fingers if it is not closed up with care. The second minor concern is when the toy is set in Spanish language mode, it announces everything in English first and then Spanish. If the young child pushes the button too fast, they will not hear the Spanish phrases.

Overall, this is an excellent and very educational toy for your child or childcare center. It comes strongly rated by clients on Amazon, and by Childcare Training Info.
