Information About Leaving From Dublin Airport

By Cornelius D. Lawford

Dublin Airfield is a global center for travel. It is one of the ten most busy airfields in Europe and most of flights into Ireland come in via this airport. With a fresh terminal having been lately opened it is set to keep growing and improving. There are plenty of destinations that may be reached from here and the facilities and services in the terminals are wonderful. The links into Dublin centre are also excellent.

The airfield has 2 terminals. The first has been open for a considerable time and is well developed with flights operating with major airlines including Lufthansa, Ryan Air, Swiss and Air Canada. Although the second terminal was only opened towards the end of 2010 it has facilities and services to rival the existing terminal and handles flights with Delta, Continental, Aer Lingus and American Airlines.

In recent years the airport has increased greatly in popularity as a doorway to Eire but also as a stop over destination for links on long haul flights around the world. They run internal flights to Shannon and Cork and they have twenty 8 different services to the UK. They fly to most countries in Europe over a hundred alternative routes. As well as these short haul routes they also have a considerable number of services to the United States, Canada, the Asia and North Africa.

As is the case with most major airfields there are excellent shopping facilities at Dublin Airfield. The shopping mall is known as The Loop and it has stores that sell cosmetics, fashion, foodstuffs, keepsakes, perfumes and essential travel items, all at great prices. You can even store your purchases for free and pick them up on the way back through. This is a great way to get what you want with no need to carry it around on your travels.

It's easy to get great meals and refreshments in both terminals at the airfield. The trattorias and bars are open at all hours with some of the places open full time. This implies that you can eat breakfast, lunch, dinner or nibbles at any time of the day or night according to when your flight is lined up.

When you arrive in Dublin there are numerous other methods of travelling onwards. If you are just travelling the short distance into the city center your best choice is to take a taxi or to get on one of many buses that go there. If you are travelling some place else in Eire you'll need to catch a train or hire an auto. To take a train you'll need to get into the town center but those wishing to hire a vehicle can do so at either terminal.

Dublin town is excellent place to visit. There are tons of hotels within easy reach for you to order into. There is accommodation all around the town with a selection of styles and budgets to suit each traveller. Dublin itself is a comparatively small place so getting from your hotel to notable places is easily done, either by walking or by public transport.

Dublin Airfield is a handy and well serviced place to travel to and from. It is straightforward to travel on into the town or further afield to the rest of Eire.
