Unique Accommodations Of The Ann Arbor Bed And Breakfast

Located on the campus of the University of Michigan, this popular Ann Arbor Bed and Breakfast is a hotel with nine rooms. Half a mile from several venues such as the Chemistry building, the Michigan Theater, Medical Campus and Hill Auditorium, each room has a pillow-top bed, free wireless internet, a TV and a view over the campus. Although this boutique hotel is affordable priced, the service is never compromised.

Comfort is important. Knowing this, each suite as a private bathroom as well as a spacious king or queen pillow-top bed. Along with the wireless internet service, guest computers are connected to a printer line. In the rooms, the television is equipped with a DVD player and cable. Other in-room amenities include a clock, iron and hair dryer. Breakfast and free onsite parking is included in each reservation. Within a half-mile from several venues, hotel guests have the option of walking, taking a taxi or using public transportation. Pets are not permitted but children over 10 are welcome. Upon request an extra bed, work desk and snack are available without an additional cost.

Rooms with a kitchenette include a stove, refrigerator, a microwave and a sink. The loft has a spiral staircase, a king sized bed and a skylight. Located on the third floor, it was originally designed as a solarium with a floor to ceiling window and a private balcony that overlooks the south campus. With a full body shower and a tub, the bathroom also has skylights.

Families and large groups have the option of renting a 5-bedroom farmhouse one mile from the bed and breakfast. There are also five private bathrooms. Located in a wooded area, the guest will have the use of televisions in every room as well as one in the common area. The common area television is connected to a DVD player, BluRay player and wireless internet. Outside on the deck, there is a BBQ pit as well as a large country kitchen. There are no cleaning fees associated with the rental.

Home to the Ford Plant, hotel guests can take a Ford Rouge Factory tour. During the stay, visitors will be able to conduct a self-guided tour. The tour has five parts. The first part entails understanding the history of the rouge. This includes Henry Ford's dream of making it a self-sufficient plant. Next, using a multi-sensory system, onlookers will have the ability to witness vehicle manufacturing from a 360-degree angle.

In between meals, tourists will enjoy Walker Tavern. Sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources, Walker Tavern has a long history dating back to 1985. Originally designed as a road between Detroit and Chicago, Walker Tavern was officially named after its owner in 1843. Named an official historical landmark in 1958, this place holds memories for all natives.

Nature and art lovers can visit one of the many trails or museums. Just minutes from the bed and breakfast, the Ella Sharp of Art and History has five galleries and the most extensive collection of wildlife art in the Midwest. This venue also rents space for events.

Home to several events including those at the Michigan Motor Speedway, anytime of year is a great time to visit. Fortunately, guests staying at the Ann Arbor Bed and Breakfast are in the middle of it all. Because of the availability of public transportation, guests do not need personal transportation to tour the city.
