Holidaying In Orange Liverpool Plains Australia

By Anton Maverick

Visit Orange with Campervan Hire Sydney, across the Blue Mountains and West onto the Liverpool Fields. Besides being a scenic drive Orange is a good place to go for a visit or a vacation. Orange isn't actually Orange and it does not grow oranges either, nonetheless it does grow apples.

There's plenty to do and see in Orange, particularly in autumn. One reason this is a great time to go to, is that the weather is cooling off a touch and the annual Orange Food Festival is on. There's tons of local food and drink to be enjoyed, and it's of gourmet quality. During this time local goods food and wine is showcased in all its glory and is just waiting for visitors to come along to drink and eat it. There are numerous things to do and see in and around Orange as well.

If you like the caves there are plenty to see, such as the Abercrombie Caves, the Wellington Caves and the Borenore Caves. Ensure you manage somehow to get to the Abercrombie Caves because they have the biggest natural Archway in the southern hemisphere. Beneath the Archway you can see the goldminers dance platform which is over 120 years of age. Other things to do include walking the Orange Heritage Trail, which will give you a good overview of the history of the city.

There also are some beautiful parks and gardens to take a look at along with a trip to one of the old goldmines close by. Some of these include the Gunner Do Goldmine, Drs Hill and Ophir Road mines. Stay for a couple of days and enjoy all of the city has to offer, including bush-walking, fishing and exploring.

You might perhaps try panning for gold and if you're lucky, you could have something to take home from your holiday. Even if you do not, you will enjoy visiting Orange, even if it grows apples.
