K2 skis technology can be confusing to understand for someone who is looking to buy a new pair of skis. That is why I want to help you make the right decision.
The primary piece of technology that we need to understand is Rocker technology. Rockers are the reverse of what is known as a Camber. Camber skis were made to bend upward in the middle, skis have been made with Camber technology for years. So Rocker technology is simply where a ski bends downwards in the middle, this is very new technology. Essentially each end of the ski is pushed upwards by the downwards pressure in the middle. Because the tips clear the snow, it makes turning and dealing with powder snow a lot more simple.

Beginners should consider using catch free rockers, they are highly maneuverable and much lighter making it that much easier to learn how to turn. For the advanced and specialist skiers looking for something extra, the names say it all. If you are into terrain parks check out the JIB models. For racing skiers, the speed models are your best although note that they should only be used on firm snow. Finally for the guy or girl who plans on skiing powder all day long, go for the Powder range.
